Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/PierceObits/10122 Surname: Jacobson, Sveen, Hogenson, Litke, Scheel, Sandene ------------------------- Spring Valley Sun, July 12, 1951 Eline Erickson Jacobson Eline (Lena) Erickson Jacobson, was born May 23, 1872, to Marit and Eric Sveen, in Foldal, Osterdalen, Norway. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She came to America in May 1892, settling in Spring Lake. The first year she was employed in Minneapolis. On June 28 1893, she was married to John L. Jacobson in Baldwin, Wis., by Pastor S. K. Uhlsaker. For four years they lived in Glenwood City, then they moved back to Spring Lake, where they made their home on the farm for the next 52 years. Eight children were born to them. Mrs. Jacobson suffered a stroke 13 years ago and later became ill with arthritis. At Christmas time last year her health began to fail, making it necessary for her to spend time in the hospital. She died Thursday, July 5, 1951, at home at the age of 79 years. Her husband preceded her in death in April 1911, and also the two oldest children; Lavina in April 1910, and Minnie in October 1912. She is survived by six children: Jennie, Mrs. Henry Hogenson, of Spring Lake; Louie of Haugen, Wis.; Emma, Mrs. Robert Litke of Chicago; Conrad at home, Ernest of Rice Lake; and Cora, Mrs. Emil Scheel of Chicago; also 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One sister also survives her, Sina Sandene in Norway. Services were held at Spring Lake Lutheran church, Monday, July 9th, with Pastor Carsten Smeby officiating.
