Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/PierceObits/10090 Surname: Hanson, Anderson, Legreid ------------------------- Spring Valley Sun, August 21, 1958 Henry Otto Hanson Henry Otto Hanson was born to Louis and Lena Hanson September 5, 1880, in the town of Spring Lake, Pierce Co., WI. He was baptized in infancy and later confirmed in the Spring Lake Lutheran Church by the Rev. D. Kvaase. Mr. Hanson was a very active member of the Spring Lake Church. He sang in the choir for several years, served as secretary of the church for about 25 years, and was one of the building committee at the time the church was built. After graduating from the Spring Lake grade school, he enrolled in and graduated from the agricultural school at the University of Wisconsin. Since graduating from the University, he had managed the home farm. He was an active member of the Guernsey Breeders Assn. and held the longest membership in the Pierce County Dairy Herd Improvement Assn. About a month ago his health started to fail and he entered the Memorial Hospital in Menomonie in July and died there on August 12, 1958, attaining the age of 77 years, 11 months and 7 days. He is survived by two sisters, Selma, Mrs. Martin L. Anderson of Barron, WI., and Susanna, Mrs. Lester Legreid of Newark, NJ.; five nieces, four nephews, 17 grand-nieces and nephews and several other more distant relatives. Funeral services were held Friday, August 15, at the Spring Lake Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard Ulvilden officiating. Interment was in the family lot of the Spring Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thorburn Stein, Simon A. Stein, Herbert Kassen, Henry Jacobson, Arthur Jacobson and Charles Jacobson.
