Hello: Thanks to Patricia Dawson, there is yet another history online. "History of Washington County and the St. Croix Valley, Including the Explorers and Pioneers of Minnesota" published in 1881. This one also has an index on its own page. If you view the index and find a name of interest, just go to the actual history and use your browsers FIND function to locate that name in the document. This addition can be accessed by going to the TOWNS link on the main page and then clicking on its link. Nance Sampson, the Coordinator for Barron and Sawyer Counties, is also donating biographies from the "History of the Chippewa Valley" published in 1891/92. An index to what will be available is already online and can be accessed from the main page by clicking on the BIOGRAPHIES link. This is where all the biographies will be placed when Nance is done with them. And, one last thing. There is an organization out there currently passing off free genealogical sites as their own databases and charging people to access them. Due to this, I am going to have to spend time placing disclaimers on each and every data page on the Pierce County site. This will take some time and I am very angry that I have to do this to protect not only my and my volunteers hard work, but hopefully dissuade this person from using the data contained on my site to scam unsuspecting genealogists. Maybe I can help put him out of business by doing this, I can only hope. When you find a pay for view site, check them out completely before plunking down your money, it is a buyer beware situation out there. And while there are many legitimate operations, there are some that are complete rip offs. Debbie Barrett http://www.rootsweb.com/~wipierce/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~nywashin/
