Hi Bill and Connie, Thaks for the comment on the Eagle hotel. I know there are several cousins who would really like to have any info on it you can find. As I had mentioned in a reply yesterday, it was my gggrandfather Thomas Stokes who ran it. Also as mentioned, his son Oliver, built the Stokes House hotel in 1899. When we were last in Durand we found it based on a postcard they have over in the old courhouse, and it was a bar at that time. It is a fairly large brick building a couple of blocks west of the bridge on the southwest corner on the main drag. I don't remember the name of the bar but maybe that is the one you call T-Birds. Possile??? In any case, we sure will be anxious to hear what you find. Seems the Stokes' and their comparable Caturia families (my ggrandmother who married Oliver Stokes was one of them) were pretty active in and around Durand from about 1860 on. Still a lot of the Caturia's around, especially around Arkansaw. Thanks again for your help Gordon Madison William & CJ Weber wrote: > Hi Everyone!! Connie Weber here !
