Hi Lauri, Gordon Madison here again. I too would like to find out more about the Eagle hotel in Durand. Thomas Stokes was gggrandfather and I have seen a brief reference to his ownership in the History of Pepin Co. His youngest son, Oliver, by Thomas' first marriage built the Stokes House hotel in Durand in 1899. It is still there but was a bar/restaurant the last time we were in Durand. About 3 years ago.
