I've "rescued" an old photograph of George G. SERENE or George's father (it is difficult to tell since the writing is "George G. SERENE of Father") which was taken in Pepin, Wisconsin at the C.H. Schlueter Studio. In addition to George's name someone has also written the name "Mrs. Sauile SERENE" though the first name is very difficult to read. The photograph was likely taken in the 1880's and may be a memorial photograph given out after a death in memory of the deceased. I know there was SERENE family in the Pepin area of Wisconsin, however, I don't find any family researchers listing Wisconsin as their area of interest.
