As Cuz Leonard mentioned... There will be two reunions the same week... The "Wynne Genealogy Society" will be having their 5th annual Wynne Genealogy Reunion on September 23 - 28th, 2003 in Springdale, Butler County, Ohio. Our reunions are researching reunions we spend two days [Tues-Weds] hitting all the places that would have any documentation on our families. Doing this as a group makes the work fast, making copies of anything that mentions a Wynn of any spelling. Then on Thurs. we spend the whole day taking a tour of all the cemeteries in that county that have Wynn's in it, or related families in it. Fri. and Sat. we rent a meeting room at our hotel and we have a business meeting, then we spend the rest of the time sharing our research, questions, documents and books with each other. The Wynne Genealogy Society makes sure there are copiers there so everyone can make copies of everything we find and also what everyone brings that we may need. This is a great way to get a lot of information at one time. Usually we have a historical speaker there which can give life to our families helping to give us idea's and also feeling to what their lives were about. Then we top it off on Sat. night ! with a Goodbye Banquet, which is always a lot of fun.... leaving Sunday to pack up and go home. The Wynne Genealogy Society was created for the descendants of Dr. Thomas Wynne and their collateral families. All Wynne's are welcome to come to the reunions, as well as belong to the Wynne Genealogy Society as life members instead of hereditary members. All are welcome let me know if your interested and I will help you out with the details. August 22, 2003 Hi Again All You Cousins, We are getting real close to our Wynne-Wynn-Winn Reunion. If you haven't made your motel reservations try to do so by September 1st, 2003. They will hold all our rooms until then and after that it will be only if they have extra rooms. I have heard from several of you that have already made your reservations. We are looking forward to this time. Several of you are getting this notice for the first time. I hope it won't be the last time. I am in the process of trying to locate many more of our cousins that have been unknown to me as well as a lot of you. So help me locate your cousins, send me their Email address. I told you in our last mail out that I found the names of 27 of our cousins that were buried in the Beene-Raulston Cemetery in Sweetens Cove. I have made pictures of about 22 of the markers and we will plan on going there again this year and maybe find the 5 that I was unable to find. I will try to have pictures of these grave markers. Several of us cousins met at Peggy Wynne's home a few days ago to make our plans for this year. We will grill Hot Dogs and Hamburgers and have all the trimmings to go on them, along with plenty of Cold Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite. Of course we will have plenty of sweets that have been home made. Just be there to see what we will have. We will start getting there around 9 AM and if you want to get there earlier just wait on us and we will be there in a few minutes. We will plan on eating around 12 Noon. You won't have to bring anything except yourselves on Saturday. Lets try to have as many as we can for both days Saturday and Sunday. Sunday we will plan on having a lot of the local good cooks bringing food as you have always done before. I know we have to have the best cooks that can be found. I will repeat myself once more, if you have not made your reservations please do so before September 1st. I am sending the same information again about the Comfort Inn for your information. They will hold the rooms for us until September 1st. After that they will give you a room if they have it. We have already had several to make reservations so if you haven't made your reservation, make yours now while you are thinking about it. Comfort Inn started out as Shoney's Inn. Comfort Inn gave us a $10.00 per day better rate. I have set aside 10 rooms at a rate of $49.95 per night. This rate is for 1 King bed or 2 Queen size beds. Smoking or non smoking. This will include a Continental Breakfast consisting of Hot Biscuits, Gravy, Waffles, Bagels, Danish Pastries, 3 Cereals (hot & cold), Hot Chocolate, Milk, Coffee, Tea and 3 Juices. The Comfort Inn is within a few feet of Shoney's and if Shoney's know that you are staying at Comfort Inn you will get an extra discount at their restaurant. You will also be within easy walking distance to McDonald's, Wendy's, Arby's, KFC, Pizza Hut, Long John Silver, Taco Bell, Domino's Pizza, Metropolitan Ice Cream Co., Los Amigos, Subway, China Inn, Dimitries (steak & pasta) and Waffle House. Also there is a Western Sizzlin Steak House 3 miles drive up I-24. I think this is a pretty good choice. So the above reasons are why I am reserving rooms the Comfort Inn. You will need to call them direct to make reservations. If you were to use their 800 or 877 number you would not get the special rate, because this rate was made by the local manage. So the number you will need to call is; 423-837-2478 Tell them this is for the Wynne\Wynn\Winn reunion The dates they are holding are for September 26th, 27th and 28th of 2003. If you should need to know I made these arrangements with the General Manager who is Dennis Patel. He is the one that gave these rates. The Web address for this Comfort Inn is: www.comfortinnkimball.com You can call up the above Web address and check out this hotel. To see the videos or other information about this hotel, Right Click with your mouse on the item you want to check out and then select Open Link. You will see a pretty good description of the Comfort Inn. You will need to let them know if you would like a king bed or 2 queen beds and smoking or no smoking. They would like to know roughly how many of each to set aside. I have 10 rooms reserved, but if you get you reservation in early enough we would have time to get more rooms if we need them. You will be able to cancel up until 2 days before your reservation starts if something should happen to keep you from coming. (I hope nothing will happen) I plan to continue sending reminders including the below information until just before our September reunion. The North Alabama Electric Coop building will be our location for Sunday September 28th. We had so many of you that told us how much you enjoyed the Saturday at Sweetens Cove Community Center that we thought we had better do the same thing again this year. When you see the Sweetens Cove area you will not wonder why this is where our ancestors first settled in Marion County, TN. So we will plan to be at Sweetens Cove on Saturday September 27th. Then on Sunday September 28th we will plan on being back at the North Alabama Electric Coop Building in Stevenson, Al. We will start gathering each day around 9 AM Central Time. I know that some will be coming in at different times and that will be fine. We will be looking for you. We will probably start to eat around 12 Noon. If you have anything that you would like to cover or see on this weekend please let me know. I am sending this reminder again because September 27th and 28th will be here soon. We will be looking for you. We are getting Emails and phone calls saying they plan on being here. Let me hear from you. Just in case this is going to some of the sons or daughters with computers and you have parents without computers, please print them a copy of this Email and let them know we want them to be at the reunion. If they have a computer and are on-line please send me their Email address if they did not receive this notice. I will have at least one more reminder and with the next reminder I will include driving directions for both of these locations. Many of you already know the directions, but for the ones that are not sure I will try to make directions clear. Please continue to remember in your prayers many our family members that are sick. Please keep me advised if you change your Email Address. Your Tennessee Cousin, Leonard Wynne 1008 Laurel Avenue South Pittsburg, TN 37380 Phone 423-837-7388 lmwynne1@earthlink.net
