Dear Tommye, Exactly, also some times they will say a name is on this page.. you get there and they are no where to be found on that page.. if you go a page back or a page forward you will usually find them, the transcriber to the search just put in the wrong page number in the coding..... It is surprising how much you can find by wandering around.. I am just so glad they have the actual documents where we can view them, mistakes and all. But I believe my eyes more than the transcribers who have been on there typing for hours and getting type blind..giggles. I also found my Great grandmother on one of the census. Her name was Winn and I found it Wind. She was living next to a son and their name was also spelled Wind. I just read where some times Winn / Wynn / Wynne is sometimes Wein. -------Original Message------- From: WINN-L@rootsweb.com Date: Saturday, August 30, 2003 03:06:50 PM To: WINN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WINN] Re: Census errors Dear Tommye, Exactly, also some times they will say a name is on this page.. you get there and they are no where to be found on that page.. if you go a page back or a page forward you will usually find them, the transcriber to the search just put in the wrong page number in the coding..... Just to add a note to this subject: I was looking in Kansas Territorial census for my Wynn family and found them (finally) listed as Wyman. It did prove to be the Wynns I was looking for.
