Hello Winn Researchers, It is with heavy heart that I let you know of the death of Jane Harton Peyrouse (Mrs Jack). I know some of you oldsters on the list remember her. I last heard from her last March. I had no way of contacting her, so I didn't know what had happened. Finally I found a telephone number and called. She was my 2nd cousin, great granddaughter of Henry Jasper Winn. There will be a memorial service for her next spring on her 50th wedding anniversary. Following is what I wrote for her: A tribute to Jane- As a green, novice family tree researcher I was so fortunate to meet Jane on the internet. I don't even remember how we met. They didn't have many organized genealogy sites then, but somehow we found each other. What a lucky day for me! Over the years Jane has been a role model for me. She taught me so much about tracing our family tree, and she shared her work with me. She made me know these people-our shared ancestors. Jane brought these people alive. From her, there were documents, facts, and narratives that have become a large part of my collection. She provided me the documentation I had been unable to locate that afforded me the opportunity to join the Daughters of the American Revolution. I did not have the privilege of knowing Jane personally, but the fact that I knew her only via the internet and still considered her a close friend as well as a relative speaks for itself. Jane, you are missed! Love Mary Winn Anderson
