Although born in TN, he lived several years in KS and married twice and was widowed twice while there. His first marrage was to Maria DOUGHERTY, Paola, KS in 1862. Maria died the same year; that is,1862. The second marriage was to Myra Abbott in 1862. Abbott, Myra (*1843 - 1868) - female d. 1868 spouse: Winn,Sr., James M. (1841 - 1925) - m. 1862 in Ft. Scott, Kansas He enlisted in the Union Army Cavalry there. Does anyone know if either of those marriages produced any children and if so, did their mother's family in each case, raise them? It occurred to me that perhaps his wives died in childbirth since in those years it was not uncommon. James Marion WINN went on to live in IL and he married my great-grandmother, Nancy Malinda Jane ETHERIDGE ,with whom he had several children, including my grandfather, Sidney Gilford WINN.
