Barbara, Thank you so much for the information you have assembled thus far. It is interesting that you mention his first name, because it is never the same in any of the census records I have found. He was known as "North" Wilkins; sometimes he is found as North, Norford, Norflet, Noah (found this on one census), Norfolk, etc. The marriage record actually has the name Norford, but Mary Jane's name is misspelled also, Jane "Noles", rather than "Knowles". So, I'm not terribly sure that that is of importance. It's just interesting that there is such a variety of names to describe this person. Have you looked into the Boggon connection I mentioned in an earlier email - the neighbors with the son's name of Norflet or Norfleet? See if that provides any clues.
