Hi all: I posted this before but I didn't get any response, so I will try again. I am looking for WILLIAM EATHEN WINN who was married to ELLEN SPECK. William was b approx 1871, Ellen b approx 1881. Ellen's parents were GEORGE TRAVIS SPECK and FRANCIS DEMPSEY. Last know address for William and Ellen is Niagara Falls, New York in 1950. (It states this in my grandfather's obit - he was Ellen's brother - George Valentine Speck). William and Ellen also lived in LaSalle, New York at one time. I don't know all of their children, but the ones I do know are: TRAVIS SILAS WINN LEROY E. WINN b 1904 GARNET DEMPSEY WINN b 1911 WILBURT EARL WINN b 1913 GARNET DEMPSEY WINN married ISABELLA (LUM?) Their children: EMMY LOU WINN b 1937 married JOHN LELAND MILLER WILLIAM GARNET WINN b 1942 married JUDY MAE DOTY I am actually trying to research SPECK, but I have hit the wall and I am hoping that if William and Ellen's descendants answer me, I might get a line on what to do next. I live in Canada and I am not familiar with the records for New York. Is there an on-line census for 1951? How do you find someone when all you have is their name?
