It appears that the parents of Elizabeth Winn were Richard and Ann Winn. Prior to acquiring his land in Louisa Co. in 1786, Richard owned land in Hanover Co., Va. His name appears in the vestry book of St. Paul's Parish of Hanover Co. back to 1770, and then there is a gap of several decades. Having browed the internet and various entries of Hanover Co. concerning members of the Winn family, I am wondering if this Richard Winn was the grandson of the Richard Winn who was exchanging lands with his brother John Winn in Hanover Co. during the 1730s. John Harris, by the way, was born in 1766 in Prince Edward Co. on Vaughn's Creek. His grandfather, David Harris of Hanover Co, had received a patent to the land (which was then in Amelia Co. ) in 1740 as appears in the series Cavaliers and Pioneers. That David Harris had married the widow named Jane Landy Richardson. John's other grandfather was John Harris of Hanover Co. who had married Mary Tinsley.
