    3. Hi Ferguson, No one else has taken a crack at this, so I'll try. This Richard Winn/Wynne is often referred to as 'Wynne' but the extant records almost all use the 'Winn' spelling. Not too much is known of him, altho the Christ Church parish (Middlesex Co.) records show two marriages and 7 chn. No one has proved his parentage or ancestry but he has been assigned (w/o proof) to various Winn/Wynnes. My personal theory is that he was one of two sons born to the Thomas Wynne of the Montgomeryshire/Shrewsbury family cited by Ann Fremantle in "The Wynne Diaries". That Thomas prob. arrived in Va. abt 1640-50 but left no footprints here. The other son of Thomas (my guess) would be a Thomas Wynne (b.ca.1660-70) who had a son, John Wynne (1705?-1772) who is the founder of my Wynne line, of York Co., Va. I have done some digging in Middlesex records and compiled a chronology for this Richard Winn/Wynne of Middlesex: CHRONOLOGY rev. 12/2002 RICHARD WINN (WYNNE) Year Item Source 1630 Possible birthyear 1652 Richard Wynne - on list of headrights claimed by William Owen & Nugent v.I, p.264 William Morgan, for 360 acres on NE side of Skiminoe Creek - [York Co.] 17 Nov 1652 [This Richard could not be the Richard whose fam. is listed below.] 1694 "Sarah Wynn" imported by John Skears w/ 2 others. 7 Jan 1694. Court - 6 Mar 1721/2 I had to bring this over from another program so the formatting may seem irreg. but there are three columns --- Year, Item, and Source. I find that this Chronology format very useful in understanding the life pattern of a person. I can add only that York Co. records also show a line of Richard Wynnes there from late 1600's to 1818. This line could be desc. from either the Middlesex Winns or my ancestor's Wynne. Any additions or corrections anyone has will be of interest. 3. Hi, I just looked at how that message appears on my screen and find it is a mess. If anyone is seriously interested in the sources, let me know and I'll send an attachment with the columns all in place.
