WINN, Fred R. - Age 92, passed away Mon, September 5, 2005, at his home in San Francisco with his loving children at his side. Fred was born March 28, 1913, in Boone County, MO, on a farm that had been in the Winn family since 1815. He was the son of Albert Jesse Winn (1878-1937) and Etta Estelle Bowman Winn (1889-1967). The family moved to Columbia, MO, in 1915 when the eldest children reached high school age. During the war he served in England, and crossed the English Channel to Utah Beach three weeks after D-Day. After World War II, he joined the law practice of Mancuso & Herron in San Francisco. He was made a partner in 1949, and after Edward T. Mancuso was elected public defender, the firm became Herron & Winn, which practiced civil law in SF for many years. Thank you Shirley. Yes, he was my uncle -- the original one in our family who began our family history research. I've learned so much from him. There's a lovely photo of him with the obit. that can be found through the link below. http://www.legacy.com/SFGate/LegacySubPage2.asp?Page=LifeStory&PersonID=15031413 My best to you, Julie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shirley Williams" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, September 09, 2005 11:04 PM Subject: RE: [WINN] Fred R.
