Cuzn Becky, Your comment here meets my thoughts at the time that David & I was chatting - if applicant had met all requirements, eligible, of age & etc. that was what the Lodge needed to activate the file. So I did not persue the records of my gg-grandfather for I had his lineage, location (home & city) of family or most all that I needed for record at that time. Of course, if I had been joining the Eastern Star, or had a son who wished to be a Mason, to have researched past Masonic files might have helped in ways other than genealogically.
