He was born in England in 1852. He was given a middle name at birth but when he named a son George he took the letter "F" and always told us that it was just the letter. His son took the letter "C". I suspect that he was thinking about his mother who was Mary Fletcher and the son's mother was Ellen Cannon. Most of the Winns I have seen online were in the US a long time before my George was.
