Its also is spelled: Whims, Whimes, Wines etc... so there's plenty to learn. However, we all fall under the Winn, Winns, Wynn Wimes and Weems naming. My gr gr gr grandfather was name Jasper Winn. However, on 3 different marriages he used: Winn, Wynn and Wimes. His kids also used the three different spellings. I am sure his father was out of VA. However, we have no idea of his siblings or parents name. Jasper was born in 1843, on the 1880 census he had a nephew name: Anderson Winn. Remember, back in those days, they only name kids after one another. So, if Anderson had kids he name his son the same. Hope I help a bit. Do you have any other names?
