    3. Dear Randy,          On your home page you state "The direct line of descendency from the Welch noblemen of Gwynedd and Gwydir through 1000 years of history to our Wynns and Winns of Virginia is a myth."           I thought that proof that there were no Wynn Gwydir descendants  in America was fairly well established until I read the article by J. Rives Childs published in The Virginia Magazine Of History And Biography, October 1964, Vol. 72, No. 4 titled The Wynne Family Of Gwydir And Virginia.                      Apparently there was a Gwydir Wynn descendant who did make it to Virginia.          I extracted the information in the article into a gene style chart for visability comprehension.          Thomas Wynns b. abt. 1626, d. 1662 at sea is the one who came to Virginia. This Thomas is the son of another Thomas Wynns 1604-1644 and I don't know who his wife was yet. I may yet find out as I'm also extracting information from the "Wynne Diaries" and "Casanova Loved Her by Bruno Brunelli 1929" as all these Wynns are closely related. I digress.          The Thomas Wynns 1604-1644 is the son of Alice Spurtow and Richard Wynns who was a brother to Sir John Wynns of Gwydir b.1553, Baronet 1611, his lineage extinct.                     The big question is, could this Thomas Wynns 1626-1662 have left any decendants in Virginia? The time frame allows that he could have and genealogy dictates he should have. That could have, should have is buried in question marks. There is no information yet found that he married much less any indication he had any children.          Childs did some research and speculated that the only canidate he found for a son of Thomas in Virginia was one Jasper Wynns b.1652. I'm assuming Childs found the time frame right, the geography right and this Jasper otherwise unaccounted for. Childs made some suggestions for further research.          In trying to find something about this Jasper I got a reply from a posting about a Jasper Wynns who was Mullato. I think the Jasper she referred to was one in the 1800's. She was away from home and I got the impression I would get more information after she was home but haven't heard yet. Mullato Jasper Wynns in the 1800's would not disinterest me in the Jasper of 1652.          Childs also speculates on the possability that this Thomas Wynns who came to Virginia might be a cousin to the well know Robert Wynne 1626-1678 emigrant to Virginia.          It may be a bit early to close the book on the Gwydir descent in Virginia myth.          Got a posting you did on William Winn and knew I had information on this family in the WFKA (Wynne Family And Kinsmen Association, Inc.) records collected many years ago. Don't know that I'd have anything you don't allready have but what are you looking for??          Went to your page, nice job, and got sidetracked on this Gwydir thing.          I once spent the night at the Gwydir Castle.
