Do you'all want something to chew on? I am new to this group, but not new to some of you with whom I have shared puzzles in the past. This is a question that Billie Gilmer and I were working on some time ago, and I don't really know if we reached any documented conclusion. I am descended from a John Wynne (c 1722 - c 1796) who m. 1st Agnes Sturdivant and 2nd. Susannah (Irby?) With Agnes he had William, Thomas, Green (Billie's ancestor) and Frances. With Susannah he had Nathaniel, Peterson, Mary, Mildred (my ancestor) and Robert. The question is: Who were John Wynne's parents? Billie was betting on Thomas Wynne, son of Thomas Wynne and Agnes Stith. Has anyone worked this out? If so, please let me know where you stand with it. Maybe I could pick up where you left off. I am sorry if you have all hashed this out before. Billie urged me to join the group back in 1998! but I became focused on other lines and -- well, here I am! Billie -- remember my chart? The data below is incorrect. The John Winn who m. Susannah Irby died in Amelia Co. in 1781, not 1795. He was the son of Richard and Phebe Winn of Hanover Co., not Thomas and Martha.
