Becky and All, Those names were just too much to resist, so I bid - first time on eBay. Now, since this is "Armorial," does that mean I have to join the NRA? HA HA nope... BUT... Vi, if you want to Win the bid.. be sure to be on line 20 minutes before the end of the auction, watching it, Hitting Refresh your screen every couple of minutes. Because the other guy can throw in a bid at the last minute and it will take e-bay almost 15 minutes to notify you...by then the auction would be over and they will have won it, where as if you are watching it you can jump in immediately and try to save the bid.... OR do as I do and put your top amount you really are willing to pay..and it will put in the lowest amount to cover his bid until it gets to your limit..Say you put in 40.00 as your maximum, that means e-bay will bid for you until it meets that limit..but say he quits at 25.00, then e-bay will bid the next higher bid to just cover his amount..so say it is in 1.50 increments then you would win the bid at 26.50 [not that they will take your total 40.00 unless it is needed.] But if they have a higher Maximum then your lost unless you can jump in and get above them... I always set my limits of what I will do.
