Brian, have you received a reply? Old VGS Magazines listed show Vol 2, 1964. But contents does not show a Wynne Family article. You might check out: http://www.vgs.org/oldmags.htm I'd love to see that, too. Brian, Captain Peter Winne and Hugh Wynne (or Winne) arrived at Jamestown settlement in the fall of 1608 aboard the second supply ship. Peter Winne was drowned in a boating accident a few months after arrival; however, is anything recorded about Hugh. There were only two white women in the community at that time, Mrs. Thomas Forrest and her maid Anne Burras. Burras married John London. Also, the Jamestown settlement was near the Pamunkey Indian villages. Was Hugh an ancestor of Baylor Winn? In one of the messages, I noticed the name "Hugh" as a probable son of Owen Wynne with Owen coming to Virginia in 1611. Any ideas about the names of parents of Peter and Hugh who came to Jamestown in 1608? Don Winn -----Original Message----- From: Doris R.
