Jon,  yes the transcribed record by John Gott says "Lingham" with a "m".  I am sure that Gott transcribed the spellings "as written" from the original records in his book just as I did his transcript. I have never researched the Lingham/n Surname so I don't know the way it was spelled in the 1700's or now.  Which ever way it is usually spelled is okay with me. I agree that this particular VA deed certainly documents so many things.  I think it is a real find for someone who descends from Wm. Winn and his dau. Martha Winn Smith.  And it certainly documents that Martha Smith was the granddaughter and not a daughter of Minor & Margaret Conner Winn.  Good to hear from you.
