Charles Bridges Winn was the first of the ten children of John Winn (1782-1837) and Mary (Polly) Johnson (1789-1857). Both John and Mary are buried in Riverview Cemetery. John Winn built Belmont house and plantation. The house still stands and gives its name to a Charlottesville neighborhood.
