OK Bob, I've reformatted the site and have most everything on there (there will always be more, I hope). I think it is getting close to releasing. Here is my latest draft for your comment: Randy -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cousins, Our common Winn line has recently been reviewed, reorganized, sourced, and posted on the Internet. Common ancestors are: Minor Winn (1704 - 1778) = Margaret O'Connor Northern Virginia William Winn (1732 - 1800) = Rosamond Hampton VA-->South Carolina Minor H. Winn (1775 - 1840) = Matilda Bedford SC -->Tennessee-->West Fork, Arkansas a.. James Minor Winn (1810 - 1868) = Nancy Ann Boyd Tennessee-->West Fork, Arkansas I think you'll find this family history to be unique. In addition to a page for each main character/family, the site has many features intended to help internalize the information. a.. Home: Overview, Navigation, Maintenance, Sources (sitewide) http://www.ancestor-rescue.com/Winn/index.htm b.. Lineage: Lineage Outlined, Minor Confusion http://www.ancestor-rescue.com/Winn/lineage.htm c.. Origins: Ancestor Overview, Family Naming Conventions, Ancient Sources http://www.ancestor-rescue.com/Winn/origins.htm d.. Maps: An overview of their migrations plus details where they lived http://www.ancestor-rescue.com/Winn/Maps We intend to clearly display information with the utmost accuracy feasible--coupled with all the documentation possible. Past attempts to trace this lineage have failed to captured and document this information in way that helps correct errors and establish truths. The Internet now makes it possible to share sources like never before. If we can get all that is know of our common ancestors in one place, we all will benefit from the subsequent enlightenment. Bob Saunders has done extensive research centered on Minor H. Winn (1775-1840): http://www.ancestor-rescue.com/Winn/WinnMinorH.htm and has provided a great deal of information that alone, should make a long-term difference. Others have contributed information on this line which has been merged and organized on this site. As resources become available, they will be linked to the site so scans of the critical documents/sources will be embedded where needed therein so that user (themselves) can help sort out the factual, eliminate the incorrect, and capture the remaining facts, controversies, and speculation in their proper context. We have provided readers with pertinent information formatted in a way that provides clarity, allows for effective referencing, and prevents conflicting information (except where acknowledged and qualified). For example, users can cross-compare sources pertaining to the birth of a relative to determine how to use that information thereby building on what we have started. This is a dynamic site, engineered so it can continue to change regularly with exacting input as others interface with this outline of family history. Please take a little time and compare what the site shows to everything else you have on this line. Dig through those boxes one more time. If you have access to pertinent information we lack, I hope you will share it so it can be put on the site for all to benefit from. This includes pictures/graphics. Help us correct and flush out this history for posterity. Reply to either rsmart@ancestor-rescue.com or saundersrj@earthlink.net specifying either the URL (or the page heading--name/dates) and the web page section. And if you have accessed this site in the past, please go back and look again. Much has been corrected and added lately. And let us know how we can better present this information to help you. Thank you, Randy C. Smart Webmaster / Historian
