    1. [WINN] George A Winn Lincoln GA
    2. Murray Curry posted this last year on a public tree. For those of you into it, one of the letters we have posted before was written to Jabez Curry named within. A witness to this will was George A Winn who is the son of Minor Winn b1759 (son of John and Dorthea) and Mary Evans. Hope it helps some of you! Thomas Curry, Sr. died 1832 in Lincoln, Ga., and is buried at the Curry Family Cemetery on the family plantation. Thomas married a Miss (unknown first name) Walker of the "English Walkers". No other prior history of the Walkers is known. Accordingly, as Thomas Curry had grown children when he moved to Ga., he probably married our Miss Walker while living in Philadelphia or VA sometime around 1765. To Thomas and Miss (Walker) Curry were born the following children: James Nathaniel, Sarah, Susannah, Thomas and William. How many of these children lived in Lincoln County, Georgia is not known, but Thomas Curry's will (Will book dated March 2, 1827) appointed James and William Curry to be executors (oldest and youngest sons); the home place was left to William Curry; the remaining assets were shared equally with his three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. (Walker) Curry probably died much earlier. She was approaching age 50 at the time (1793) William Curry was born; she had at least one grandchild (Jabez#1) the same age as her youngest child William. Her grandson, J.L.M. Curry, William Curry's son said "of his Walker kin he never knew much". In memories and biographies, no mention is made of J.L.M. Curry's Walker relatives, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. who would have known the Walker ancestors. Mention is made about a number of his maternal kin, Winn's and Lamar's. Probably few Curry's remained in Lincoln County, GA by the time William Curry had his family and contact with the Walker kin was lost. Thomas Curry Will abstract Lincoln county, Georgia - - Ordinary Estate Records, Book D p. 189-190 The will of Thomas Curry 4 June 1825 I, Thomas Curry, being in good health and sound mind & memory. First I desire all my just debts be paid, then I give unto my beloved son, William Curry, the land whereon I now live, with my working tools, also Negroes, Joe, Briget, Jim, Thriza, Delsa, Putienze, Biddy, Tom,, Fan, Lindy, Rachel, Little Joe & their increase, to be divided among my chn. To wit: James Curry, Susannah Carlisle, Sarah Hogan, Nathaniel Curry, Thomas Curry & William Curry. I desire that my smith tools & all stock of every kind, all household furniture, all money on hand & debts due me be divided equally among my children. I appoint my sons, James & William Curry, as my executors, Wit: Robert Fleming, Robert Brown & George A. Winn….Signed, Thomas Curry….Proved on oath of Robert Fleming & Robert Brown this 5 Feb 1827. Recorded 2 March 1827

Mary Winn born June 20, 1778 to John Wynn and Mary Pledger. So there must be parrish records at St. Paul's or St. Martin's parish in Hanover VA. Does anyone out there have these specific records for Brenda??? Thanks Connie

    1. [WINN] Adding Titles to FTM2009
    2. Dear Cuz's, Just a tidbit... if you have someone that has a title..like Sir, Jr. Dr. II, III, Sr. Col. Lt. etc.... you can add it now to the name with out putting it in brackets or messing up the sort order... Enter the persons name... Hugh Owen Once it is entered, click on the right edge of the name box, A pencil will show, to represent the "edit" option. Once you click on that pencil a window will open. There will be three boxes.. first name, last name and suffix In the Suffix box put Col or Jr or what ever then click OK It will now put the name in sort order and also show the suffix with out distorting the sort order of your index box.... Love this option!!! Hugs Cuz Becky ttg-inc@tx.rr.com http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ttg13/ "'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain "
