    1. [WINN] Date Calculator
    2. The Thill Group Inc
    3. On the following page is a date calculator... it was talked about in the Rootsweb review: http://www.geditcom.com/DateCalc.html It says: The DateCalculator application is a free utility for many date calculations and conversions. It has the following capabilities: You can enter dates in a wide variety of ways and convert the dates into the GEDCOM format for dates. The DateCalculator supports the Gregorian, Julian, Hebrew, of French Republic calendars and allows approximate dates and date ranges. Convert dates between the supported calendars. You can calculate the day of the week for any precise date. You can enter two dates and calculate the time span between those two dates. You can enter any time span and add or subtract it from or to the date. Most date utilities expect you to enter precise dates with a day, a month, and a year before they will do conversions or calculations. All features of the Date Calculator can be done on "fuzzy" dates. When fuzzy dates on converted, they will convert to the new calendar with the same precision entered in the original calendar. When time spans are calculated with fuzzy dates, the Date Calculator will calculate the maximum and minimum times that could possibly span the information given in the "fuzzy dates". When times are added or subtracted to or from fuzzy dates, the Date Calculator will calculate the range in dates that could possibly differ from the original date by the entered time span. Fuzzy time span calculations are sometimes useful to genealogists. For example, if you know someone was born in 1824 and died in NOV 1901, how old were they at death? Using the Date Calculator, you can calculate that the time span between these two dates is "BET 76y, 10m, 2d AND 77y, 10m, 30d". Thus, they were 76 or 77 years old with a greater chance of being 77. Adding or subtracting time spans to or from fuzzy dates can also be useful. For example, if you know someone died in NOV 1901 at age 77, when where they born? Using the Date Calculator, you can subtract "BET 77y AND 77y, 364d" from "NOV 1901" and find the possible birth dates as "BET NOV 1824 AND NOV 1825" (notice that date calculations always use the same precision as the input date). If you later find out they were born in 1824, then the birth date is narrowed down to NOV 1824 or DEC 1824. I thought it sounded pretty kewl!! 1. [WINN] James G. Wynne
    2. The Thill Group Inc
    3. On my other list [WGS] a cuz named Kathy Brown ran across this info and I am posting it here in case it will help someone? Hello- I'm not sure if anyone is actively researching this line of the Wynne's. But while doing research on my Father's family, which are from MO, I found this biographical sketch on James G Wynne. After checking Becky's extensive tree, I found his parents listed "Evans Peery Catlett Wynne b. 4 Jun 1833 in Tazwell Co, VA & Hanna Melvina Byrd b. 7 Feb 1834 in Pettis Co, MO," which match this James' parents. I hope this might help someone with their search! JAMES G. WYNNE (Attorney at Law, Chillicothe). One of the younger members of the legal fraternity in Livingston county, but one not unknown, Mr. Wynne has gained an honorable place among his brother practitioners, and in the prosecution of his professional duties is meeting with encouraging success. He was one of 8 children born to Evans P. and Melvina (Byrd) Wynne, the other being David, in Grundy county, Mo.; William K., in the same county; Frank E., Edward W., Robert P., Sarah B. and Mary L. The mother was a native of Pettis county, Mo. She died December 11, 1885. Evans Wynne came originally from Tazewell county, Va. When young he settled in Grundy county, Mo., and there farmed and gave his attention to merchandising until his death in 1875. The principal portion of the youth of James G. was passed in Grundy county, but for a short time during the war he resided in Illinois. From an early age he was made familiar with the details of farm life and to this calling he elevated himself up to 1876, when he engaged in the d! rug trade at Chillicothe. For some three years he carried an this business, but in the year mentioned the long cherished desire to follow the practice of law induced him to commence studying for that profession. Pursuing a careful course of instruction under Hon. D. M. Pollard, he was soon admitted to the bar (1879) and in 1881 he removed to Bedford, Livingston county. In 1882 his ability and recognized fitness for the position caused him to be elected prosecuting attorney of the county and so well were his official duties discharged that in 1884 he was re-elected to the same position, which he still occupies and as has been intimated, to the entire satisfaction of the people of the county. Mr. Wynne is now still less than 30 years of age, having been born in Grundy county, February 7, 1858. October 18, 1882, he was married to Miss Belle C. Thompson, also of Grundy county, and daughter of a well known physician and farmer of that locality; Dr. M. V. Thompson, a Kentuckian by! birth. Mr. and Mrs. W. have one child, Walter E. The only secret organization of which he is a member is the Knights of Pythias. This was found on: http://www.lcl.lib.mo.us/~lcl/History/County/1886/1886chapt20.htm In continuation, regarding James G Wynne. This is the site where his parents [Evans Peery & Melvina Byrd] are buried; Wynne Cemetery in Grundy County, MO: http://www.rootsweb.com/~mogrundy/cemetery/wynne.html There is probably 3 dozen or more Wynn/Wynnes buried in this cemetery. I'm sorry I'm not more clear on where the southern Wynn/Wynnes are from, so maybe this is more helpful for them. Kathy Brown Hope this helps someone? Cuz Becky ttg-inc@attbi.com http://www.ttg-inc.net http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ttg13/
