1. [WINN] Margaret WINN, Stonewall Jackson's Grandmother
    2. Source: jmbaker@albion.edu on Rootsweb.com There are several rootsweb.com sources specifying Margaret Winn as the grandmother of Stonewall Jackson and his mother as Julia Beckwith Neale. This is one which also included a bit more about earlier generations..the information is, in fact, minimal, no matter which source I consulted. It doesn't say much but it essentially all says the same thing. Index | Individual | Descendancy | Register | Pedigree Ahnentafel, Generation No. 1 1. Minor Winn. 3. To All: I'm not certain if we are getting the straight story from our Queen I have watched this scene TWICE today: Pierce Bronson, escorting a beautous Hollywood-type babe, and giving much praise for his debonair role of "Bond-JAMES BOND," is being presented to England's Queen. At first, I wasn't certain if I was seeing this scene correctly, but after the second viewing I KNOW that I saw a little, short person with her crown askew peeking over the shoulder of the English Queen. "Yes," I said, as I finally figured it out. Our Queen has given us the slip, pleading illness, but there she was, tagging that great American hero, James Bond, around, AND in the background were a bunch of rough looking (but shaved this time) guys who were quickly identified as the Troops. This is for Our Queen Joyce: Dump the Troops and get back to us. I'm certain I speak for all of your Loyal Wynne Subjects, Princess Vi of MN

If it has taken you over ten years to get them where they belong, its no wonder I have been on the verge of losing my mind. Every time I look I come up with something new and different. There are totally different families listed. Can any one help?? Carol Winn Ott Carol, I have worked on this mystery for over 10 years. I did not research the Wynn family of Wilkes County GA for a long time because of these published genealogies. But... everything kept bring me back to Wilkes County. We have letters that were written in the 1915 - 1918 era from a Richard Adam Wynn to Franklin Wynn of Blount County Alabama. We know that Frank was a member of our family. In these letters Richard discusses the fact that these two gentlemen are first cousins. We have no idea what Uncle Frank was writing to Richard, but the tone of the letters show that Frank disagreed. Richard listed their grandparents as Tom Wynn and Nancy Agee. They told that the family was raised in Burke County NC. Several of the children were mentioned, and the fact that it was a large family, and that several of the boys were killed in the Civil War. I have been able to track and prove all the children mentioned in the letters. Also found Thomas Winn in Burke County NC in 1820, however I have been unable to locate him anywhere else after that. (And neither has our friend Jack <g>) The letters give our Thomas Wynn's middle name as Marion. Thomas Marion Wynn. There is an announcment in the newspaper from Washington, Wilkes County, GA on January 14, 1806 that says "Thomas Wynn married Miss Agee, both of Wilkes County." Now we know that 'a' Thomas Wynn married a Miss Agee in Wilkes County sometime before January 14, 1806. Our Thomas Marion Wynn and Nancy Agee's first son was supposedly born on December 13, 1806. They named him William Booker Wynn. William Booker was a son in law to Thomas and Mary Echols Wynn. We know that the Agee family lived in the same district in Wilkes County as Thomas Wynn and Mary Echols. I believe that from the Tax Records that Obediah, Thomas and Mary Wynn's son owned a track of land next door to the Agee's. The records are not in order of the location in the district, however several mention neighbors in the descriptions. The location of the Wynn property and the Agee property are close enough that they were neighbors, and with all probability knew each other. I believe that our Thomas Marion Wynn was the son of Thomas Wynn and Mary Echols. Since there is such a age difference in Thomas Wynn and Nancy Agee's ages, I am almost sure this is not the first marriage for Thomas. You can see my tree at this location. This is one mystery that I wish could be solved. If my Thomas Marion Wynn is not the son of Thomas Wynn and Mary Echols, I would like to find where he belongs. He has wondered around long enough. <gbg> http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=gagenie&id=I96 Any help from anyone would be appreciated. Wyndell Taylor > >

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/FgWBAEB/99.136.1 Message Board Post: Hi Robert - I am search for the my "Winn" family. I know that two of my ggrandfather's sisters are buried at the Beaver Dam Church. Does any of your information show a George Washington Winn? He is my gggrandfather and I can't seem to get any further than that. The name Daniel M. (Matthew) Winn left a will and everything to GWWinn. But I can't prove that is his father. Also, it was mentioned that maybe he was one of Minor's children. George was born in 1809. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Sandy McCall
