Interestingly Vince Hackley owner of the website that was given to us by "PoolSide" feels that the Margaret Conner/Connor (mother of Margaret Conner who was the wife of Minor Winn) decends from John Butler and Agnes Hackley. If you continue looking through the website of Vince Hackley you will find some lineages for Winns; Conners/Connors; Butlers; and Hackleys. Vince Hackley does have an intersting website and lots of info to think about. Also interestinly I did find a court record in Essex Co VA:VA Co Court Records Order Book Abstracts of Essex Co VA 1699-1702 by Sparacio: p. 21; p. 24; Essex Co Court 13 Nov 1699: -A non suit is granted Coll: Geo: Tayler Deft. agt. JNO: BULTER Plt. (no cause of accon appearing) to be paid with costs -Also JAMES CONNER vs. RAND: BIRD In this one court record we have John Bulter who some researchers think was the father of Margaret (wife of James Conner); James Conner (husband of Margaret); and Randall Bird (the Bird name being of interest to Minor Winn researchers). And no doubt that all of these people knew each other since they were in court at the same date. **I have no doubt that the JAMES CONNER named in the court record was the husband of Margaret and father of Margaret Conner (who married Minor Winn). James Conner died in Spotsylvania Co VA in 1725 and can be proven by Court Records in Spotsylvania Co VA that he was married to Margaret Conner. I have not been able to find proof of a "family" connection between the Conners and the Butlers/Hackleys. And I have not been able to find any "info" on Randall Bird except that his was wife's name was Arrabella. Checking the formation of Counties in VA: Essex , King & Queen, King Wm. > Spotsylvania > Orange > Culpeper. There are Court Records for James Conner in Essex, King & Queen, and Spotsylvania and for his wife Margaret Conner in Orange & Culpeper after the death of James Conner. If anyone has any info on Randall Bird it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Deanna Ames. ----- Original Message ----- From: <PooolSide@aol.com> To: <WINN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2002 11:14 PM Subject: [WINN] Margaret WINN, Stonewall Jackson's Maternal Grandmother + Other Winns > http://members.cyberrealm.net/rockfish/database/f_36.htm#5Margaret
If you want another really kewl link...although you have to go way, way back... Coel Hen was the king of what is now modern Wales. He lived 350 to 450 A.D. The Wynne/Winn family can be traced back to Coel Hen. You say Coel Hen doesn't sound familiar? What if I told you that the term "Hen" is Welch for "old". Still doesn't sound familiar...think about one of your favorite nursery rhymes...Old King Cole (actually spelled Coel). By the way, for a little history on some of the more famous (and very royal) Wynne ancestors, take a look at the book British Kings and Queens by Mike Ashley. Most book stores have it or can order it. -----Original Message----- From: PooolSide@aol.com [mailto:PooolSide@aol.com] Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2002 1:16 PM To: WINN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WINN] (no subject) Subj: For Your Consderation WINN/WYNN/WYNNE Cuzzins Date: 11/19/02 8:08:53 AM Hawaiian Standard Time From: PooolSide To: WINN-D-@rootsweb.com Dear Fellow Winn Researchers aka Cuzzins: Becky suggested I put this out there for your consideration.
