    2. This is the best census search engine I've seen yet. It includes the 1790, 1800, 1810, 1870 censes. It gives you a list of names, with age, state, birth state. Then when you click on the name, you go to a page that has the census page at the bottom of the page. It even has buttons for page A and B, so that if your name isn't on the first page, you can easily flip to page B. The quality of the images is far superior to ancestry.com. It is very well done. The other thing that's good is that you can also view books online.

I have just started trying to find out information about my father. What I have at this moment is very limited. I was born in Milford, MA and my father I believe was born in NH. His name was Albert Dresser William Winn. He was born on August 27, 1929 and died on Oct. 20, 2000.

    3. I noticed that on your list the name Guinn is mentioned. A few years ago I read "A Home-Concealed Woman," the diary of a Guinn woman, probably related to the author Ursula Guinn. I enjoyed the diary, published by a grandson, but I have forgotten any more publishing data about the book. I believe it was published by a southern university press. What I wanted to comment on was that in the book, the author noted that the family had kin named Wynn. 2. Dear Cuzs, Today's visit to my friends antiquarian book store was productive. I now have three new Virginia county source books and will do look ups. There are a lot of references to Winns and Minors, possibly other families of interest. I have: "Wills of Westmoreland County, Virginia 1654 - 1800", Augusta B. Fothergill, Appeal Press, 1925. Not a single Winn of any spelling! Alas, as somebody (Joe D.?) had commented before, no John Winn here. Lots of Minors, others. "Marriages of Orange County, Virginia, 1746 - 1801". Catherine Lindsey Knorr, Southern Historical Press, Easely, S.C., 1959. No Winns, some Minors. "Marriages of Luneburg County, Virginia, 1746 - 1853", Emma R. Matheney and Helen K.
