    3. HA HA nope... BUT... Vi, if you want to Win the bid.. be sure to be on line 20 minutes before the end of the auction, watching it, Hitting Refresh your screen every couple of minutes. Because the other guy can throw in a bid at the last minute and it will take e-bay almost 15 minutes to notify you...by then the auction would be over and they will have won it, where as if you are watching it you can jump in immediately and try to save the bid.... OR do as I do and put your top amount you really are willing to pay..and it will put in the lowest amount to cover his bid until it gets to your limit..Say you put in 40.00 as your maximum, that means e-bay will bid for you until it meets that limit..but say he quits at 25.00, then e-bay will bid the next higher bid to just cover his amount..so say it is in 1.50 increments then you would win the bid at 26.50 [not that they will take your total 40.00 unless it is needed.] But if they have a higher Maximum then your lost unless you can jump in and get above them... I always set my limits of what I will do. 3. -----Original Message----- From: Will Winn <willwinn@route24.net> To: ttg-inc@attbi.com <ttg-inc@attbi.com> Date: Monday, January 27, 2003 3:12 PM Dear Winn/Wynn/Wynne/Win Cousins, My name is William Winn and My wife and I live in East-Central Illinois. I am a semi-retired high school principal and currently work a few days a week at the Regional Office of Education doing some grant writing and life safety audits of 98 public school buildings in our region. Obviously, I am an avid genealogists researching our branch of the Winn family. Lorna (my wife) and I have been to Wales twice and have visited Gwydir and Llanwrst along with the Wynn chapel and historical room/area at the local church. We stayed at Gwydir Castle, home of my ggrandfather (15 generations removed) Sir John Wynn and thoroughly became immersed in the family history. My branch of the Wynn/Winn family goes through Minor Winn and onto Illinois via the National Road. My gggrandfather was John W. Winn who was born in 1818, I think in Pennsylvania (according to death certificate), however, I have found another document in which it indicated he was born in Maryland. I do know that he married Mary A. Derry on January 1, 1842, in Loudoun County, Virginia. If anyone has information about this line of the Winn family I would certainly enjoy sharing information with you. Thank you again for including me in this illustrious group and I look forward to e-mailing many of you. Your cousin, Bill

    1. [WINN] Bedford County, Tenn., Family History Book (2003)
    2. Elizabeth Stephens
    3. Several months ago we talked about a new Family History Book being published out of Bedford County, Tennessee. So, for those that were interested (and any newcomers that may have come onto the list since then) the books are in! We received our copies today and it is a very nicely done book with a lot of area history as well as family histories. Sadly, there are only a couple of references for WINN but lots & lots of other surnames (500+ pages). There were several other WINN researchers looking in the Bedford Co. area so they might be interested in some of these other names. (Note: I'll be glad to do lookups in this book as long as my time allows. My scanner is currently suffering from some strange malady which we can't seem to fix, so I'll just do my best. Please email me privately for non-WINN requests so as to not bore the group.) The publishers originally said they were only going to pre-sale the book but now, it appears, they did order extra copies which they are putting out for sale. ($60.00 + postage, etc) The brochure says "first come first served" on copies available and orders must be received by 2/15/03. If you're interested, the ordering details are this: The price of each book is $60.00. Postage/Handling for the first book is $7.00, and $4.00 for each additional book. Order by Feb 15, 2003. Make checks payable to "Bedford County History Book" Send name, mailing address and phone to: Bedford County History Book PO Box 141 Shelbyville, Tenn 37162 (931) 684 - 2678

    1. [WINN] Winn findings
    2. Thomas Winn b. abt 1799 ( England or Ireland ) m. 1823 to Mary Cossins b. abt 1800 (England or Ireland) . Children: Rachel, Alice, Dawson, Elizabeth, Ann, and Benjamin. Just received naturalization info on Thomas from Morgan Co, Ohio --finalized 1844. Some other names in this batch are Wetherell/Wetherall--George, Joseph, Robert. No mention of Mary nee Cossins Winn is found tho. Marriages of Alice, Elizabeth, and Rachel and names of spouses (spellings) different than I had before--Alice Winn m. Owen Grimes on 1 Jan 1852; Elizabeth Winn m. (info states A.-we have had Ezra) Yocumb on 23 March 1851; and Rachel Winn m. Joseph (we had Robert before) Wetherall on 12 Jan 1843. These three marriages are listed for Morgan Co, Ohio in Vol B., info dated from 11 Feb 1841 to Nov 1853 on page 59. Also there is an A.Hamilton Winn m. to Amanda Pyle m. 11 Nov 1849 in this listing of Morgan Co Ohio. We think Ann m. John Morrison and may have lived in VA. No other info on her or John. Benjamin may have died as a young man and that may have been in Morgan Co Ohio or earlier. He was b. 1836 and whole family came to US in 1839 via Ship Chevalier from Liverpool to Philadelphia PA. Must have migrated into Ohio after that. If any of these people are in your lines, please contact me and we can share info. Virginia WINN Parker Oxnard, CA (orig. from Deepwater in Henry Co MO)

    3. FWIW: I believe the Lem P. Wynn who shows in the 1900 Johnson Co., TX census to be the son of Littleberry & Kiziah Long Wynn. Lemuel was born 15 Oct 1856 Kings Cove, TN. I have 2 database entries for Lemuel Wynne marrying Sarah Ann Norris: (1). 10 Apr 1848 Collin Co., TX and (2) 17 Apr 1848 Walker Co., TX. (source was Automated Archives) Probably the same persons. 3. To the Cuz's that happened to purchase the "Dr. Thomas Wynne's Legacy" that was published last June 2002. I have just completed the Addendum to it. It is the final addendum of the main body and also the named index has also been corrected. Should you want a copy of the Addendum for you book, please e-mail me and I will send you the addendum combo as an attachment, it is big. But it has been formatted to the size of the original book. Should you print it you will need to trim it to the size of 5.5 x 8.5 and if you take it to Kinko's you can have it card stock covered and tape binded for like $2.45. Again if you purchased the original book this is the final addendum to it. If you did not purchase the book this addendum will make no since.
