    3. Becky, you are so thoughtful in recording your uncles' family story in his voice & his own personal way for all to enjoy indefinitely - you have a great treasure for future generations. May God's blessings be upon him always, especially through his surgery, treatments, and days of needing strength. It seems that Kenneth has great spirit, sure hope he does fine during his surgery & recovery. We missed you, cousin! 1. [WINN] Back in Pocket notice 2/12/2002
    2. The Thill Group Inc
    3. I am back in pocket 2/12/2002 5:35 pm central time. The rest of this message is off topic. As to Uncle Kenneth: They did one surgery on Monday to place a stomach peg [tube for feeding] for feeding while they do the removal of the voice box and do a neck lumpectomy deal on the lymphnodes in the neck, then when radiation is over and all healed they will remove the stomach peg. Surgery did not go well. Tuesday instead of doing the second surgery for removal of the voice box etc... they took him into emergency surgery to find out what was wrong with the stomach "peg", etc from Monday. He came out of the ok, with a change of placement, sewing up the other one, and cleaning up the mess. They will have him on three days of antibiotics then next week they will do the removal of the voice box etc... They feel the cancer is totally contained and that it will be fixed with the removal and the radiation to follow. Your prayers were heard. Thank you all. And this is something you might think about... I took with me my handy dandy little tape recorder that I bought at Staples for 29.95 that has one hour micro tapes and has a special speaker on the end so that the person doesn't have to hold it like a microphone, and it filters all the noise. On Sunday night when I arrived at the hospital, I set down with my Uncle Kenneth and I put the recorder [turned on] on the little table.. and we talked.. about old times and his growing up and about his folks and grandparents and how he met and married my mothers sister, and how he learned to be part of a "Hugging" family etc... believe it or not I have four hour filled tapes of my Uncle Kenneth and I reliving some history. He didn't want to sleep and this kept his mind off of things... but the thing that it gives me is the sound of his voice. It is on tape for all time. Once they do the surgery next week, his voice will be gone, never to be heard again. Yes if all goes well and we get our prayers answered, we will have him and a mechanical voice box.. but it will not be my Uncle voice that I hear in the back of my mind in my memories... But this also gives us a tape recording of his family story and history. He thought it a wonderful thing and actually seemed to forget it was on the side taping. ...... Food for thought, you might do this with your families..... on the favorite Uncle...all my Aunts and Uncles are my favorites for different reasons, but this one is extra special because, as we moved so often [USArmy 37 schools by seventh grade], I was concerned if I ever got lost I would never find my family again he helped me memorize his phone number so that I could always call him and not be lost.... I still remember that phone number 405-MU5-8183.. it is no longer their phone number but was until I went to College. It always made me feel safe to know that number... Silly? Nah love in the best kind. Thanks again for your prayers they are always of help. Thank you to all that e-mailed me privately, also. You are all special to me. 3. Good morning Carol I don't have access to my computer for a few days (Had to go back to Apple) but off the top of my head Mildred Winn did a spretty good job of researching that Thomas. I got in to it later and questioned the mother of Joseph because there was no Joseph prior to that in the Wynne line. She said Joseph was an educated guess to be the son of Thomas' first wife and she couldn't prove who that wife was. As I remember the dates didn't match using Martha Wingfield as his first wife. Will call Millie today and see if she will address it again. 3. Carol, Thanks for the info as I was confused about the Thomas Jefferson's will. I was under the impresson that "The President Thomas Jefferson" only had 2 daughters that survived him and of course the daughter's children. And Monticello is in Albemarle Co VA. ----- Original Message ----- From: Carol Ott <cott@iopener.net> To: <WINN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, February 09, 2003 4:25 PM Subject: Re: [WINN] THOMAS JEFFERSON??? > Hello everyone- I thought you might like to know that the will for Thomas Jefferson was not for the "President" Jefferson. 3. Hello everyone- I thought you might like to know that the will for Thomas Jefferson was not for the "President" Jefferson. The will was for a Thomas Jefferson born 1679/80 and who died about 1731-He was a justice-Chesterfield Co. court and a high Sheriff 1718/19. He married A Mary Field who was born 1680. His father was Thomas Jefferson born 1653 in St, Christopher Island, West Indies. His mother was Mary Branch. They had 6 children- Field b 1702-Col. Peter b 28 Feb 1708-Judith- Mary- Martha- Field number 2 or same unknown. Children are same as listed in the will. I just found this on a web site looking for some thing else but thought it might be of help.--Good luck- Carol Winn Ott R.Smart of Ancestor-Rescue.com wrote: > > Thomas Jefferson, the President, died on July 4, 1826 which was the 50th > anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which he > drafted.
