    3. I am trying to find information re: Louis F. Wynn and spouse Sarah Sproul. His parents names are unknown to me, but they both were born in VA. Louis is my gr. grandfather. William Alexander Wynn, grandfather and James Louis Wynn, Sr. my father who was born 1904 and passed in 1999, Van Nuys, CA. Dad said his family came to Maryland from Wales to be able to practice their Catholicism. They later became Protestants in succeeding generations. Thanks to Tom Smith, I learned Louis was b. in 1819 in Ky and Sarah was b. 1832 in KY and her parents were b. in VA also. Dad had a brother, William Clarence Wynn, b. 1907 and a sister, Mayie Wynn Hanson Pickrell, b. 1900 all supposedly born in KC, KS and later moved with their mother, Hattie Cofer Wynn Fauchier Smith to Caldwell, KS when Dad's father died in CO in 1912. If anyone can help with the information, please e-mail me: patmike.askay@earthlink.net Thanks, Patricia Faye Wynn-Askay 962 Grand Avenue Fillmore, CA 93015 (805) 524-5194

    3. Hi, This Wynn line may be the one I am trying to find. GGgrandmother Elizabeth Winn was born in Ohio. Married in1836 in Indiana. The family she married into came from Penn to Ohio. Duncan Campbell was the father in-law. Delaware and Licking co. Ohio, orig. from Scotland. I have no infor on her parents. Her son was William Henry, daughter Emma (Maline?) and Adelia. I have the feeling my Winn line was a northern branch, not southern. We may be working along the same line. 3. Becky, I have found this happens a lot. I also decided to just go through some of the census, page by page, looking for my ancestors and I would find them when Ancestory didn't even have them listed on ANY Census. So if you are really looking for someone, it is worth it, to just go page by page ,if you know the year and place. It takes a lot of time to do this, but if you find something it is a reward in itself. Tommye

    3. Dear Cuz's, I have spent the last two days printing Census sheets, to record census information on, and the actual copy of the Census record for the families; Wynn [all spellings], Abraham, Hiday, and Ashcraft. When I look at the sheet before printing, I always look all the way down it, making sure, not only the person I am looking for is there, but also to see who else was living around them. I was very surprised to find the errors that Ancestry.com has in their searches!!! Example is, they show a William Abraham in Indiana, Miami County, Unk. twp. on Roll M 704_99, Image 106, Page 33, but if you look down that Census page, there is also a David Abraham a couple lines below William that they did not catch in their search!!! This means that several people in the family are being left not found. [Mind you this is with a last name only search, not a first and last name search] Please be aware!!!! Look down all the sheets don't just assume that all is as it should be!!! I have found this in at least seven places in the census in the last two days.... Please Beware!! Ancestry.com is a wonderful thing, but be aware of its faults. Cuz Becky ttg-inc@comcast.net http://www.ttg-inc.net http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ttg13/

    3. Dear Patricia, The WINN-L is the choice if you want to receive every e-mail as it posts from everyone... WINN-D is if you want the messages to come in a lump group a couple times a week. Patricia when you receive an e-mail from the WINN-L or D it can be coming from anyone on the list, and it isn't necessarily to you, it may be to a particular person or to the group as a whole... you will catch on as we go along.. if you see something you want to comment on or have a question on..just jump in, posting it to the e-mail address of: WINN-L@rootsweb.com As to the message about the book Royal Tribes, before you came on line, I had posted a message to the group saying that the book "A Pedigree of the Royal Tribes of Wales." was now for sale to us American's for $11.00 USA money, and if any one wanted one they could send him a check for $11.00 and it would cover the cost of the book and postage from Great Britain. Then Earl Earl came back and said that he hoped that it was more readable than Sir John's book, that was very hard to read..and I said yes it was very readable. I have seen most of his writing before it was put in book format. It is interesting and is about the 15 tribes of Wales... [they had tribes and chief's before they had kings and princes]. Hope that got you caught up.
