Some of his decendants say he migrated to Van Diemans Land (now Tasmania) in Australia from Dublin, Ireland. I have not been able to find any record to verify this statement. I can find a record of a Thomas Winfield who was a convict and who was transported to Van Diemans Land on 12/04/1826 from London. Does the name Garret which obviously is a family name appear anywhere in your family tree? Can you help me with any information? Reguards Bill Winfield.
