He moved to Yorkshire at some point before 1877 when he married Jane Atkinson in Beverley, Yorkshire, though I have had no luck in finding him on the 1871 census. On his marriage certificate he says his father is Thomas Winfield a farm labourer. Thomas and Jane had 6 children: Charles Winfield (1877) Rose Ellen Winfield (13th April 1880 - married Steeksma in 1897) Olive Ann Winfield (1882) Albert Winfield (1885) Thomas Winfield (1888) George Winfield (1891) I don't know when Thomas and Jane died or where they or burried. I would appreciate any help or additional info about the Winfields. Hope to hear some new soon! Kathryn Horsfall

WINFIELD born August 1833 in New York. Possibly married Mary Jane WYANT 16 Aug 1856 at the Presbyterian Church, Westtown, Orange County, New York. Daniel was listed as "from Millsburgh" in the marriage notes. Possible children: 1] George Winfield b. abt. 1857 in New York; 2] Lafe (Lath, Leis Lafayette) Winfield b. abt. 1859 in New York; 3] Daniel Webster Winfield b. 14 November 1863 in Pennsylvania (Daniel Wesbster Winfield is my husband's 1st Great Grandfather). Was Daniel E. Winfield (E. standing for Edwin) the Private metioned as serving in Company A, 137th Infantry Regiment, Pennsylvania (Civil War)? If this (all of the above), is Daniel E. Winfield father of Daniel Webster Winfield, he would be my husband's 2nd Great Grandfather. I believe we are in the possession of a tin type portraying Daniel E. Winfield. Possible Census readings for this Daniel E. Winfield: 1850 - cannot find him 1860 - Salem Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania 1870 - cannot find him 1880 - Russell, Russell County, Kansas [believe Mary Jane Wyatt has died and Daniel E. Winfield marriaged again to a Margaret] 1900 & 1910 - Russell City, Russell Township, Russell Co., Kansas. If anyone has any information concerning the above Daniel E. Winfield, Mary Jane Wyant [or Wyatt] or any of the mentioned children, please contact me. Even if my "supposing" on relationships is incorrect. Please I need help - have been searching for 5 years now. Thank you - Vicky L. (Williams) Winfield

Hi all, I am new to this list and just wanted to post a quick message to see if anyone had any links to the Winfield's or Wingfield's of Derbyshire? At the moment I have only been able to trace my own line of this particular branch back to 1841-ish. Robert Wingfield was born to William Wingfield (mother currently unknown) in either Ockbrook or Borrowash around the early 1840's. I know of another Robert Winfield born about the same time and place to James Winfield and Mary Corden, but I have ruled this person out by way of a marriage certificate as being my own (direct at least) ancestor. By the early 1860's Robert had moved to the East-End of London and was married to Margaret Hassett. They had four boys, John, Joseph, Thomas and William. (Aside from William, I have lost all trace of his brothers after 1881 - including death certificates, possibly they may have emigrated to the US or Australia). William married Jessie Piggot in 1889. They had at seven daughters (Cornelia, Ellen, Jessie, Elizabeth, Annie, Lily & Rose and one son, William). William married Elizabeth Robinson in 1925. They had three girls, Kathleen, Lilian & Irene and three boys, Joseph, Brian and Michael. Joseph married Clara Say in the late 1940's. They had two girls, Denise & Sharon and one boy, Michael. Michael married Shelia Martin in the 1970's. They had two boys, David and myself. Incidently David and his wife had a baby this week, Joshua, so we are no longer at the bottom of the family tree :-) Look forward to hearing from anyone who may be related. Regards, Daniel Winfield
