He was b. ca 1811 in NJ. He married an unknown Ellethra (Mary Ellethra?). Ellethra may possibly have been a Cleveland. They were in Steuben Co NY by 1850 and migrated on to Jackson Co MI by 1870. I descend from their daughter, Nancy b. NY ca 1834. Nancy married James Beattie ca 1855 and they migrated first to Winnebago WI and on to Langlade Co WI. I believe Horace's parents may have been Henry C. Winfield and Mary Sutherland who originated in Sussex Co NJ. Any information on any of these family members appreciated. I don't have your John or Jacob Winfield in my database, but I am fairly confident that all the Winfields in Ulster Co, NY descended from Richard Winfield who m. Magdalena Willemse "Lea" Schutt, widow of Gerret Decker, on 12 Jan 1696 in Kingston, Ulster, NY. I am descended from Richard and Magdalena via their son, Daniel, b. 1700, David, b. 1721, David b. 1759, Esther, b. 1791 m. Morris Davenport in Ulster Co, NY and migrated to Schuyler Co, IL in 1835/36. The Dutch Reformed Church kept very good birth and marriage records so the information should be available. I have some church records from Ulster Co. There is a large book of these records published by the Kingston DRC.
