I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I had family that was placed in "State Public School, Sparta, WI" (orphanage) in 1901. I had been searching for a long time trying to find out where these children went. One was an infant and died there, the other was indentured to a farmer. It is my understanding that the school is no longer there, the cemetery is, but you have to go through a golf course to get to it. I haven't been there, but this is what I was told. You can write to the Dept. of Health and Family Services, Madison, Adoption Search Agency and they should be able to help you. I got information that I wanted through them. If this isn't the same place your great great aunt was placed, they still might be able to help you out.
