This is an update; I found the cemetery it turned out to be WOODS not roots, and it is located at Valley Junction, not Wyville, and I also had a wonderful person go out to the cemetery and look. I now have the information on CORA MAE (CHRISTIAN )STRAIGHT and LEWIS AMOS STRAIGHT, where they are buried and birthdates and death dates, plus three more STRAIGHTS I didn't even know about. The lady at the records Dept in Sparta was real helpful, am waiting for copy's of certificates, only $7.00 per copy, not bad at all. I want to thank all on the list for the help, If I can help in return please let me know I live in Sac Co., IA would be happy to return the favor. Hillmore was born here (so this places the time line around 1925) Hank and I went to school here. We moved close to Shinington and went to the Mayflower School, Mother (CORA MAE CHRISTIAN STRAIGHT) died here. She is buried in the ROOT CEMETERY. Then the letter goes on to tell about what happened when their mother passed away, all of the kids were farmed out and not to good places. > So I am asking for help in locating this cemetery and the information on her stone. I have been told that Cora and LEWIS AMOS STRAIGHT are buried side by side in the cemetery. > > Also I would like to include a list of names in hopes some one will recognize them and respond they are all relation I think. > STRAIGHT > KELLOGG > LEITZ > THOMPSON > RUTHERFORD > JONES > NELSON > TAYLOR > > These people are all from the Tomah, Oakdale , Wyville, Ironton, Shinington and BAINE areas. > T he ROOT FARM is supposed to be 1 1/2 miles South East of Wyville WI > Hope you all forgive me this long missive. I want to thank you for your time reading this . > > Helen STRAIGHT > [email protected]
