I wish I lived in Monroe Co. and had access to the information. I am trying to find information to put on the American Local History website and would like to add information to the Rootsweb site for Monroe Co. I am in Winston-Salem NC and our local genealogy group and area historians adopted the Rootsweb and American Local History sites and they have been really great about putting out information. They also sell alot of publications from their site. I have had real good sucess with the County Historian for Monroe County. She has been a great help. She just needs some people to help her. I can bet she has alot of information but not the time to get everything done that she needs to. Also if you want information on your families post the information as many places as you can some one will see it sooner or later. Also remember one person can not do everything but everybody could do at least one thing and together there would be alot.
