Also there were Hickox and sometimes their name was spelled Heacox in the census. At the courthouse in Sparta (vital records) there are 2 books that are "sealed" books. I believe Vol 41 and 42 and are birth records. There is a birth index which might have your person's name but the record could be in one of these sealed books and you cant get into them - not ever from what the woman working there told me. but someone could maybe check the birth index for you. maybe they could tell you if there is a Heacox in those sealed volumes. not my family but just an interested observer and have found a family member listed in one of these volumes.
