John was married once before, and had one daughter Dora born of his first marriage. Dora, and his children with Mary Ann (6 of them - one being my grandmother "Emma"), along with John and Mary Ann, eventually all moved to Duluth Minnesota sometime around the turn of the century. Most of family membes are buried in the Duluth area. I knew Sarah Edmonson was the sister to Mary Ann Edmonson, but I did not know who Henry Starkey was until I read your message - and was delighted to get this detail. I would recommend reviewing census records to find your mother's parents (if I understand your question)...and would that name be Starkey? I have reviewed census records from 1880 and 1900, and the Edmonson name and Jenkins name appear quite often. What do you know about "Jenkins Valley", a term I have heard before and assume is due to the fact that many of the Jenkins family (John and! brothers) moved to the Sparta area from Ohio where they were born. I still am searching for information regarding David and Mariah (Strong) Jenkins, both born in Massachusetts 1805 and 1810 - who are the parents of John W. Jenkins - and I believe they are buried somewhere near Sparta or LIttle Falls because I cannot find information about them having come to the Duluth MN area. I have a copy of John and Mary Ann's marriage record.
