Hi all, I received a photo album from the estate of my paternal grandmother, Lillian Dorothea (IZATT) GALLAGHER, in 1988. The album is covered in gold tone velvet and has a small heart shaped cracked beveled mirror on the front. It is mounted on a matching base by a metal stand. I also have an indoor photo (circa 1900) of my Great Grandmother, Florence Marie (JOHNSTON) IZATT, with this photo album nearby. The mirror was cracked even that long ago. Although I suspect the album belonged to Florence Marie JOHNSTON, it could also have belonged originally to her mother, Maryette (GETMAN) JOHNSTON. Maryette died in 1897 and is buried in the Warren Mills Cemetery, Warrens, WI. The album has a patent date of Jan 1894. Many of the photos are certainly pre 1894. One is known to be from the mid 1860's. Though few of the photos are marked with names, they must certainly be from my Wisconsin JOHNSTON and GETMAN lines. They are primarily from Wisconsin photographers, with a few from Kansas and one from Illinois. The photos are all on my website at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~bgilson/ ...
