I am mostly working on a hunch, trying to figure out what became of my husband's great-great-grandfather "Bert Price". I have a bio from Van Buren county MI genweb, on Allen Odell. In it it talks about the Price family: " ...Lydia Jane Price who was born in New York state, August 10, 1835, a daughter of John Price and granddaughter of Benjamin Price, who spent his last years at the home of a son in Ohio. ...John's wife whose maiden name was Lydia Sanford, died at the age of 49 years. They reared eight children, namely: Horatio, Lucy Ann, George, Sanford, Barton, Oliver, Milo and Lydia J...." I have info on Horatio Nelson Price who bought land in Michigan, that says he is from Monroe county NY. He married Maria Johnson in Kalamazoo MI 1844, and died in 1867, Allegan county MI. I am thinking that his brother, Barton Price is the Bert Price I am trying to find. Info on the Family Search web site shows Barton Price born about 1821 at Sandy Hill NY, which is now in Washington county. I have found nothing else on the Price line with the exception of Lucy Ann Price who married Sewell Rice. To complicate things, Lucy would be the sister-in-law AND the mother-in-law of my husband's great-great-grandmother who remarried after Bert Price's death, to Lucy's son Edward H. Rice. But all things said, I still am not sure if the Sanford Price in Ohio is the one from this family. There is only one other one on the 1880 census, and he lives with his father in NY. I would appreciate it, if you find anything that might shed some light on all this, let me know. I will recheck my sources for the Love family name also. By the way, that's a nice name.
