Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock at the home on Wednesday afternoon to the Babcock Congregational church at 2:00 o'clock where Rev. E.H. Walthers will officiate. Burial will take place in the Babcock cemetery. Mr. Rutz was born in West Prussia, Germany, July 31, 1860, and came to the United States in June of 1882. He lived in New York City for three years and in 1885 settled in Iowa where he farmed for 18 years then coming to Babcock where he made his home since. He married Caroline Bogatzki/e in 1883 in New York City who now survives him. Also surviving are three sons, john of Wauwatoss, Fred of Manning, Iowa and August at home and three daughters, Mrs. Ottilie Schattner of Oakwood, Wis., Mrs. Laura Gregorious and Mrs. Caroline Ebert of Tomah. One great grandchild and 18 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Baker mortuary. .
