    1. Re: [WIMONROE] McNeil?
    2. I am having a time connecting to that John McNeil. I am looking for perhaps his father. My great grandmother was Dora McNeil b. 2 Feb 1876 d. 1937 (buried possibly Tunnel City) m. 1890 (she was about 14 when married) to Charles Wilcox. Her father was John McNeil and mother Emma Matice. John McNeil disappeared and was never heard from again. Later Emma married Ben Coats. Ben Coats was a blind pentioner either from the Rail Road or Civil War when Emma married him. I can give you more information on John McNeil's disappearence after I check my records for dates. Think that John McNeil was from Ireland or New England. He just rode off one day and never returned. He might of worked for the Rail Road. I would like to know more about John McNeil Jr. He fits the age to be a brother of Dora McNeil. Emma was said to be Native American. Emma's father was Frederick McGuire or McGuril. They were from the Baraboo Sauk County Area. Dora and Charles had four children: Maggie Mae, Walter, Harvey, and Frank Avery. Frank Avery was my grandfather. He was 10 when his father died and went to work for the Rail Road in Tunnel City. When my grandmother married Frank Avery Wilcox in 1920, Dora was raising a little girl by the name of Ruth Wilcox. Dora also had spells where she would stop talking for about two or three minutes and then snap out of it and take up right where she left off. I just have bits and pieces. My parents were divorced, my grandparents were divorced, Dora and Charles were separated, Dora's father disappeared before she married Charles. So there is very little information that was given out by anyone. My father would not talk of his father, just as his father would not talk of his family. I hope that we are of the same family. I wish that you could find that your John McNeil's mother was Emma Matise. Have you got any records? Do you have a death certificate on John Jr? Do you know where John is buried? Let me know if you think that we might have a match or a possible. Happy Digging Catherine Leinbach
