Hi Ed.... Yes, my SMITH family did live in Tomah. They also lived in Oakdale, my gg grandparents Hugh Smith and Mary Ann Downs are buried there. Their son, my g grandfather H.H. Smith, made his home in Tomah. H.H. was a mason, like his father, and laid many of the sidewalks in Tomah... His son, Roy A. Smith, my grandfather, was a barber at one time, and owned a movie house in town (what is now the Tee Pee restaurant) - my mother, Gladys, moved to Madison, married, and raised our family there. Her sister, Jane Hilliker, and brother, Charles H. Smith, still live in Tomah. Best wishes.
