The Davis family that I have came from Richland county around the beginning of the 20th centry and homesteaded on what is now Fort McCoy. Levi Emanuel Davis and Susie Caylor. They had 16 children. Levi had 3 sisters, Susan, Elizabeth, Katherine. His parents had moved from Richland County to Spring Valley MN in the 1870s and died there of Small Pox in 1872. Levi returned to Richland County. Levi had Aunts, Uncles and cousins in the area but I don't know if they where his father or his mother's people. Sorry I could not be of more help. Happy Digging Catherine Leinbach
