Barb [email protected] "The year 2000 is a Census Year. most of the census will be taken by mail, so after you have filled out your census form why not make a copy of it and file with your important papers. Then your family will not have to wait 70 years to learn about you." Submitted by [email protected] Extracted From: [email protected] on [email protected]

    1. [WIMONROE] TARRANT-FEDEREN-SHANNON
    2. Hello to the Great State of Wisconsin, I am searching for any information anyone can provide me with regard to the surname TARRANT and FEDEREN. Both families lived in various parts of the state, but spent quite a bit of time in the Minneapolis area. I am searching for PHILIP FEDEREN (1883) and his wife EDITH FEDEREN (1884) and their two children FABIOLA TARRANT (1897) and CECILE TARRANT (1893). They were last known to be in the Twin Cities area in 1944, but their descendants could be anywhere by now. They were relatives of GEORGE A. SHANNON AND ISABELLA (McDonald) SHANNON of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and their son ROBERT D. SHANNON, who was last known around 1942-44 to be living in Spencer, Iowa. Robert's wife was named JESSE and his children were ANNABELLE and GEORGE, also of Chippewa Falls, WI. Sometime around 1940-45, the family and the germane cousins and step-relatives scattered about the state for an unknown reason, so I'm asking for help from anyone in ANY Wisconsin County. Any information regarding these families or their descendants would be greatly appreciated. Yes, this was posted to every board in Wisconsin because the families scattered and I'm at the point of desperation. It conforms to the guidelines established by RootsWeb, USGenWeb and that awesome upstart ALHN, so it IS NOT considered spam. Take care all. I wish you the best of luck with your own searches. 3. I'm not for sure where you're from, but I believe the Sparta High School library has that book. It was in the library in the librarian's office when I subbed there last spring. It may have been hers, and she retired, but I coul probably still get ahold of it to make a copy if you'd like. It would probably be the middle of January before I could get up to the high school to check and see. 3. Don't wanna bet the ranch on this, because I've only seen the church in two states: 1) Disrepair and 2) taken over by a Baptist (I think) congregation BUT . . . I think that is St Luke's Lutheran Church just west of Elroy in Glendale Township. It looks very much like the inside of the church I've been too, my hesitation is the message on the wall (I remember one, but don't know what it said). I can provide you a history of the church, too. If it is St. Luke's, it's a congregation that was started by my mother's grandfather and family (SCHAUER), I have pictures of the exterior, and know where I can get info on the cemetary just outside. In fact, your picture will probably cause me to write to Frances and confirm the church and get the info on the cemetary to post to the L for you. Hope that helps, Ken Sajdak Waukesha, WI Researching: SCHAUER, NEHMER in Monroe County. 3. Mary, There is a really good website for Monroe County vital records info. It is: hometown.aol.com/Kingsley/mon-vitals.html John Burke, the Register of Deeds, is very helpful and you can expect a quick response. (I've ordered records from NYC, and it's taken a month and a half; the records from Monroe Co. came within 5 days.) For the marriage record, ask him to search the years prior to their son's birth date. As for death records, the best you can probably do is to estimate a year and ask for a search for the years around it. Good luck!
