    3. Judy This is Audrey Johnson here at the Local History Room in Sparta. I checked your census listing for 1860 and he is indeed on it with several daughters. However, he is not listed in our cemetery card file of gravestones and none of his daughters married here. Perhaps you will find his death records in Spencer also. I would try the Register of Deeds for Marathan County. If you still have trouble write us a letter with what information you do have and we will see what can be done. 2. Audrey Johnson
    3. Judy Spencer is in Marathan County. You can try the Register of Deeds for Marathan County or the Vital Records Department of the State Health Department in Madison. Probably better for you to go there in person to the County Courthouse Register of Deeds and look yourself. Its free to look but you must pay if you need a copy. 3. The Monroe County Local History Room in Sparta will do lookups. They have located many late 1800 and early 1900 obits for me. They also have access to local cemetery records. They have been a goldmine of information for me. Check out their website at http: http://www.spartan.org/historyroom Jean Don Smith wrote: I don't > know if anyone in Sparta does look-ups. > > Please reply to my e-mail address with the info you are seeking...I lost the > mail with his daughters' names, etc. > > Barbara > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Judy <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Sunday, July 16, 2000 10:30 AM > Subject: [WIMONROE] Re: WIMONROE-D Digest V00 #63

    3. Try Audrey Johnson at the Monroe County Local History Room. I know that they have extensive Cemetery Records for the entire County and they are indexed. Contact her at [email protected] Marathon County is some distance from Monroe County. I do have cousins who are from a Peters family in Monroe County, but have never heard of a Victory Peters. I will try to contact a cousin who has done much research on the Peters Family in Monroe County. She however does not have a computer I tried the phone number in MT that I had for her, however the number had been changed. You might inquire of Audrey at the MCLHR, if they have a telephone listing for Robert and Beverly Peters, as they have had a summer place in Monroe county, and may have moved back to WI. 3. We will be going to Sparta in August and I will see what I can find for you if you want. If you find the information you are seeking before then please let me know so that I won't be duplicating someone else's efforts. I don't know if anyone in Sparta does look-ups. I don't think Monroe County is particularly close to Marathon County. It is not adjacent to Marathon County according to my map. Please reply to my e-mail address with the info you are seeking...I lost the mail with his daughters' names, etc. Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: Judy <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, July 16, 2000 10:30 AM Subject: [WIMONROE] Re: WIMONROE-D Digest V00 #63
