Danielle, I haven't been researching the POMEROYS for very long, the time I am researching is before and including 1900. Joseph had been married to Alzina LaDue, but in the 1900 census it said she was a widow. I am not sure where he died, Audrey Johnson has checked into a death or obit in the Monroe Co. area and wasn't able to find anything. Thank you for your response, I appreciate your information. Verna
Danielle, We found information concerning your recent inquiry for Josephine Nichols Pomeroy. This information is from the Nichols Family book. Josephine Melissa Nichols b. Nov 27, 1889, Wells Twp. d. Hi all, I received a photo album from the estate of my paternal grandmother, Lillian Dorothea (IZATT) GALLAGHER, in 1988. The album is covered in gold tone velvet and has a small heart shaped cracked beveled mirror on the front. It is mounted on a matching base by a metal stand. I also have an indoor photo (circa 1900) of my Great Grandmother, Florence Marie (JOHNSTON) IZATT, with this photo album nearby. The mirror was cracked even that long ago. Although I suspect the album belonged to Florence Marie JOHNSTON, it could also have belonged originally to her mother, Maryette (GETMAN) JOHNSTON. Maryette died in 1897 and is buried in the Warren Mills Cemetery, Warrens, WI. The album has a patent date of Jan 1894. Many of the photos are certainly pre 1894. One is known to be from the mid 1860's. Though few of the photos are marked with names, they must certainly be from my Wisconsin JOHNSTON and GETMAN lines. They are primarily from Wisconsin photographers, with a few from Kansas and one from Illinois. The photos are all on my website at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~bgilson/ ... Select the link that says "JOHNSTON Album Photo Gallery." I have other Wisconsin photos that can be found by selecting the link that says "Unidentified People Photo Gallery." Primarily from Barron and Tomah photographers. Recognize anyone? Best wishes, Bonnie -- Bonnie (Gallagher) Gilson, Phoenix, AZ, USA mailto:[email protected] http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~bgilson/

I don't know if this could be a relation, but I have a Josephine Nichols Pomeroy listed as the wife of Julius Rudolph Schedler. She died in December, 1918. I don't know for sure where they lived, but they were in Monroe County. I also don't have parents listed for her. I was wondering if someone on the list could help me find an obit or any information on the death of Joseph W. Pomeroy. His wife, Alzina's obit said that he had preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1908, but I found her as a widow on the 1900 census of Sparta Town, Monroe Co. WI. They had moved to Sparta in 1898 and lived at 530 W. Oak St. Maybe someone on the list will be able to shed some light on this for me. Thank you, Verna
While looking for something entirely different I came across this webpage. Delaware County, Ohio, Probate Court Index http://www.owu.edu/~grcryder/Pbctindx.htm I thought somebody might find a use for it. I know I've bookmarked it for future use. Sue
I have relatives buried in this cemetery and I am taking the chance to ask if anyone knows of any Boynton's living in this area. The cemetery seems to be tended to by relatives. It is the BOYNTON FAMILY CEMETERY near Tunnel City and the names include Ingham, Boynton, Bushnell, Lamb. Sarah and Stephen Ingham were from Maine originally. Thank you for any help......Marion Spencer [email protected]

to whom, I have not been receiving any email from Monroe county LIST for quite a while. What happened? Are there no queries out there or have I done something to mess up my list? I posted a question to the list and it did not come back in my email either, so am wondering if it ever got posted? Marilyn
Hi Marilyn: I am not from Monroe County, my mother was, but I saw your message and thought I would tell you, as far as I am aware, the Monroe list is still up & working, but I have not received a whole lot of action either. I believe all in Monroe is just quiet, at this time. Take care - Ed DUFF, Arizona [email protected]

You're not the only one who is wondering what happened. I am subscribed to several surname lists at rootsweb as well as several WI counties. This is the first message I have received in days (from any list!) I thought the problem might be with my ISP. Glad to know someone else is asking the same question.
